Peach Cobbler.  Recipe requested by son-in-law, Cecil!
3/4 stick butter, 1 cup sugar, 1 cup self rising flour, 1 cup milk,  a can of peaches.
Set oven at 350 degrees.  Melt butter in pyrex dish.  Mix sugar, flour and milk.  Pour in dish. Top with peaches.  Bake at 350 degrees for an hour.
Our Advent calendar that I made while our three children were younger, while living in Kentucky. My honey was with the Forest Service there and I taught in the local school. I have made one for each of our grown kids, for their children, and a few for close friends. Happy memories!

My good friend Joyce made this for me for my birthday!
We have lived here in Georgia for 21 years and have never seen a more beautiful Fall.
When I was in Europe, years ago, I got this clock in Germany. Reminded me of people you see at the carnival. They win the biggest prize and carry it around the rest of the night. That was the story of this clock! Was there 3 1/2 weeks, beautiful trip, and this clock saw every bit of it!!

Years ago I was making something out of red corduroy...turned it wrong... so took pieces and made this...JOY!
The first Sunday in Advent. Standing on tiptoe in anticipation of the birth of Christ.
All my postings, with the exception of the afghan, were learned at ELM, Enrichment of Life Movement, for people 50 and over, at First Methodist Church, Marietta, GA. We meet on Tuesdays in September, October, January, February, April and May. The star I'm posting today is made from five one dollar bills. It is a great 'happy' for grandchildren or to leave as a tip!

Preparing for Christmas!

Today Allison and I will take the Thanksgiving decorations down and start preparing for Christmas!  Advent calendar, wreaths, Christmas tree, etc.  Nice to have her here to help me with all these things.  She is the artistic one!

The snowmen are made with wax linen, my friend, Pam, taught me how to make these.

November 24, 2011

I'm starting this blog at the encouragement of my daughter, Allison.  I have been caning chairs, French caning and herringbone, for 10 years.  I work on projects on an individual basis, primarily through referrals from friends.  I have included some examples of my work which include caning, tatting and gourd art.

I have included photos below for you to view.

Thanks, Mary Ann
