VOILA!!
I finished french caning the chair for my childhood friend! It doesn't usually take me so long but had the wrong size cane, had to get next size, went to Arkansas for our daughter's birthday and now...it is done!
So glad to have stumbled on your blog, featuring the chair caning and tatting you are doing! And nice to hear that you are enjoying your new found vocation of chair caning.
I'd like to introduce you to my Seatweaving & Chair Caning Forum and to the first and only chair caning guild in North America, The SeatWeavers' Guild, Inc., and of course my website and blog at WickerWoman.com
Love the work you did on the Victorian hip-hugger round chair above in the picture. Hand caning or lace caning is one of the most time consuming seat weaving techniques, isn't it?
I have several chair caning tips and hints on my website as well as on my YouTube Channel, TheWickerWoman that I think you might be interested in and will help you a great deal.
Happy Weaving and hope to "see" you sometime on the chair caning forum.
